It never posts. That is the feature.
ESSAY · DOES NOTHING · ESSAY · CUSTOMER-FINDING TOOL

General notes
- 01Why a tool that finds your buyers should refuse to speak for you, and what that refusal costs in product meetings.
- 02The table is the list of things it declines to do, and why each refusal makes the product more trustworthy, not less.
Schedule of refusalsWhat it will not do · Why
| Ref | It will not… | Because |
|---|---|---|
| R1 | Post or reply on your behalf | Your name, your account, your risk |
| R2 | Paste a draft into forums that ban generated text | It hands over talking points instead |
| R3 | Show a rank without evidence | An invented number is a lie with a disclaimer |
| R4 | Scrape platforms with no official API | The answer there is no |
| R5 | Send more than the caps allow | Deliverability is a constraint, not a setting |
As posted
The feature I defend most often in product meetings is the one that does nothing.
Every tool built for founders wants to act on their behalf. Send the sequence. Post the reply. Book the meeting. It demos beautifully. Then an account gets banned for automated posting, the tool gets blamed, and the founder's name is the one on the thread.
I built the opposite, deliberately, and this week I wrote down why.
It finds the public conversations where people are asking for what you make. It drafts a reply in your voice. Then it hands you the draft and stops. You post it, from your account, with your judgement in between.
It also refuses a few other things. It will not paste a draft into forums that ban generated text; it gives talking points instead. It will not show a rank without evidence. It will not scrape a platform that offers no official route. It will not send more than the caps allow.
Each refusal cost an argument with myself. Each one makes the product more trustworthy on exactly the platforms where trust is the whole game.
